‘The Keep’ is a 10 acre country property located in picturesque Taradale, between the towns of Kyneton and Castlemaine. It is surrounded by bushland and offers a peaceful environment enhanced by a beautiful garden.
The stone and mud brick buildings are finished to a high standard and create a homely atmosphere with a natural feel.
Full breakfast provisions are included in the price and you are provided with our own hand-made designer soaps for your stay.
A home-baked cake is there for you on your arrival.

Enjoy a walk in the adjoining bushland. Visit the famous Taradale viaduct, explore the Goldfields and the nearby historic towns of Kyneton and Castlemaine, or take the short drive to Maldon, Daylesford or Bendigo.

The spacious master bedroom offers the comforts of a queen double, electric room heating and a cosy country atmosphere.The mud brick feature wall adds an earthy element.
The adjoining bedroom has a comfortable bunk bed, electric room heating and is finished in a similar country style.
The windows offer a great view to the garden and are fitted with electrically operated exterior aluminium shutters.
Both bedrooms share a compact yet luxurious bathroom with built-in bath tub, separate shower, cedar wall paneling and heat lamps for those cooler days.
The well equipped kitchen includes a dining corner and opens up to a comfortable living area with a gas log fire.
The large lounge room window provides a beautiful view to the garden.
Smart TV, DVD and wireless internet are provided, as well as books and movies.
The spacious entry offers plenty of room for coats and shoes and opens to a veranda overlooking parts of the garden and a landscaped dam. With a BBQ, table and chairs, this is an ideal outdoor eating area.
The adjoining laundry is fully equipped with washing machine, ironing board and clothes rack.
The surrounding garden has evolved over many years and, with its European trees, provides a pleasing contrast to the adjoining bush. It has its special charm in each of the four seasons and there are many beautiful spots to sit down and relax.
Watch the rich bird life or just enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Visit the vegetable garden and check out the greenhouse where we grow our veggies in ‘Earth Boxes’ (a patented growing system).
‘The Keep’ Sunday Garden Café is open every Sunday afternoon from 1-6 pm.
It is an outdoor café set in a beautiful garden where you can enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee or tea while sitting under a shady tree or sheltered pergola.
For the colder month we have a potbelly under a roof and fire pits to keep you warm.
We offer home-baked cakes and biscuits as well as ice cream with fresh fruit.
